He truly get’s it. I’ve had probably 8 coaches and he is the best yet. I started working with him at the beginning of September and instantly went on to have one of my best races of the year at the 10k classic pro race in Atlanta. I crashed at 50 mph a mile in and managed to get back in and be super aggressive to finish 10th after setting my teammate up to make the winning break and win. Had I not front flatted at 52mph with 100 meters to go I would have finished 5th as well. He is also really good at being there for you by responding super quick all the time and pretty much ALWAYS picking up the phone and being available to talk for as long as you need for a minute or for an hour. Not only that, with the trainingpeaks online software he is able to monitor my files and talk to me on a daily basis making talking over the phone not even all that necessary if you aren’t a big fan of talking on the phone. He’s coached me through an injury this winter and now I’m seeing some of my best power files of all time only a few months later. I can’t wait to see my results improve thanks to BJ making sure I’m at 100% for every key race I enter all year. When I came on board with him, I was skeptical because I’ve had so many coaches and I was about at the point where I just no longer wanted a coach I just wanted to do my own thing but he’s proving to be what was missing from my training all these years as an up and coming pro trying to break through. -David Guttenplan |
